“Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it’s better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.” – Marilyn Monroe
Hi, I’m Eileen. Consultant turned public school teacher and sushi addict. A self proclaimed foodie who loves to travel the world, learn and create new things, and have fun. Passionate about youth education and empowerment. Often quoting from comedies and crying from romantic dramas. Closet gamer and wannabe yogi. Living in New York City but constantly fascinated by the world we live in. Work hard, play harder.
I created this blog (originally as a Tumblr) as a way of documenting all the different “challenges” and shenanigans I get myself into and to share how I conquered each challenge! I also had several people ask me about my experience doing X or traveling to Y, so I figured it would be easier to have it documented down somewhere.
Where does “#CHENCHALLENGES” come from?
It was first officially tweeted February 28th, 2012 from my Twitter account. While the origins remain a mystery (aka I honestly forgot if I or one of my college friends made it up out of the blue), to this day, I use it as a hashtag on my social media accounts, usually after something ridiculous happens to me (frequently accompanying #mylifeisajoke) or if I accomplished something after some difficulty. This #CHENCHALLENGES blog will feature moreso the latter, but will probably include the former as well.
Here are several examples of my #ChenChallenges tweets…
Riding on bus, realized I didn’t have my wallet. Had to get off, walk home,&now don’t have enough fare to take bus out again #chenchallenges
